This is a work in progress so revisit and see changes as they are made.
I would like to extend appreciation to The Troup County Archives in LaGrange Ga for their assistance and the well preserved records and pictures pretaining to the Hardy family.
Introduction
My name is David Shellie Cherry Sr. born David Clarence Hardy in 1940 in
Jacksonville, Florida.
I started in mid 2011 at the urging of my wife to see if I could find more about my past and where I came from. I knew a little bit about it from information I received from my half sister. I have managed to get a family tree back to 1446 on my father's lineage. Being adopted, and not knowing intreged me and spurred me forward to some very exciting discoveries. I want to share my quest with you. If you will, take the time to read my story and I would appreciate if you would let me know your thoughts about it. If you have suggestions how to improve on or extend my findings or if by chance you should have a connection to me I would appreciate your sharing that and contacting me. See contact and comment link above.
In addition, if you have not already researched your family I would urge you to do so. Once you become involved you are drawn to it more and more. There are a lot of sites and data at your fingertips that can be of tremendous help. As you can see in my story, it was just a simple wanting to know a little something about my father and his beginnings that started my quest. There were more developments as I proceeded and some rather surprising findings such as I had a brother that I never had a chance to meet. There are some other facts relating to the royalty back in the early 1500's. The Hardy family were at a point very well to do as they owned a large part of a county in Georgia and also in South Carolina and Virginia. So give it some thought and join a reliable search site such as Ancestery.com or FamilySearch.Org. There are grave locaters and cemetery finders on the web that can be of great value to you as you pry through the names and start finding lost relatives. Weebly.com provided me with thisweb page. Good luck and good finding. Go on now and view the rest of my pages and click on the pictures to view larger images'.
